Most campus computers are 32 bit.  If you install the wrong version, you will get an error message during the installation process. Just cancel the install and pick the other version. You can use these instructions from Microsoft to determine if you are running the 32 or 64-bit version of Windows.

2. Download the current version

Campus computers

The managed version of Symantec Antivirus for campus computers automatically receives updates from the UNLV Endpoint Server anytime updates are available. There is no need to remember to run the "live update" utility yourself. This option is available for use only on campus computers as it requires the campus server.

Home use

Faculty and staff may install Antivirus on their home computers. This version is unmanaged, meaning the LiveUpdate utility should be run at least once per week, or set up to run on an automatic schedule, in order to update your virus definitions on a regular basis. Home users of Symantec Antivirus must use the unmanaged version and set this update schedule as off-campus computers cannot connect to the UNLV Endpoint Server.
