Network & Security > Security > Antivirus Software

UNLV purchased a site license for Symantec's AntiVirus products. On campus machines, you can install the software yourself, or contact the IT Help Desk to have it installed for you. UNLV employees may also pick up a CD for home computers at the IT Help Desk and students may pick one up at the Student Help Desk.

Managed Antivirus

The managed version of Symantec Antivirus automatically updates your virus definitions whenever there is an update available from Symantec. There is no need to remember to run the "live update" utility. This option is available for use only on campus computers. The download will only work on campus.

Please install the one for your operating system.  The installation may require you to reboot your machine.

Install Antivirus on Windows XP computers:
1. Click here and then click the "Install Now" button.

Install Antivirus on Windows Vista computers:

Mac users, use the link at the bottom of this page to download the complete version for the Mac. Mac antivirus is available in the unmanaged version only.
