At 8:25 am, Wednesday, November 18, 2009, a system administrator reported Lotus Notes Domino 4 services have been restored and Domino 4 customers should now have access to email. The incident was caused by an off campus customer with many simultaneous connections.
At 8:00 am, Wednesday, November 18, 2009, a system administrator reported Lotus Notes Domino 4 failed due to connections from an off campus computer. The server is currently restarting. It is not known when it will be fully operational.
From 3:20 AM until 8:41 AM Wednesday, November 18, 2009 serveral network devices located in FND 117 reported issues. Affected network devices include an Adaptive Security Appliance (ASA), a switch used by Telemarketing and a redundant power supply for another switch. The incident was caused by a failed Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) causing the devices to lose power. Network administrators have moved devices to a monitored UPS and building power to restore service. Customers connected to the Telemarketing switch would have not had service during this incident.
Between 9:10-10:32 AM Tuesday, November 17, 2009, Lotus Notes Domino 4 was unavailable due to a bad mail file. All services have been restored and Domino 4 customers should now have access to email.
From 5:23 PM Thursday, November 12 until 11:15 AM Friday, November 13 the fiber connection providing network connectivity to all devices in Operations & Maintenance building #3 (O&M 3) became unavailable. Network Development and Engineering administrators replaced the bad fiber connection and all devices are now connected and working properly.
On Thursday, November 12, Lotus Notes Domino 2 service was unavailable between 9:45 AM - 9:58 AM. No mail was lost during this interruption. The root cause is unknown at this time.
Between 10:22 and 11:10 AM, Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2009 Lotus Notes Domino 1 service was unavailable. Mail was queued and should be delivered to your inbox.
IMAP service has been disabled in an effort to prevent further outages. OIT staff are working with the vendor on the issue.
Between 9:30 and 9:55 AM, Lotus Notes Domino 1 service was unavailable as technicians restarted the service in order to locate a mail file that was causing problems on that server. We know you rely on e-mail service to conduct daily business and appreciate your patience.
