Access to multiple campus services unavailable 10:54 - 11:02 AM and 11:25 - 11:30 AM, 7/25

At 10:54 AM Wednesday, July 25, 2012 OIT received multiple reports of loss of network connectivity. Connectivity to the Internet (i.e. Google, Yahoo, etc.) appeared to be unaffected, however, connections to campus services (i.e. Lotus Notes, Sametime, Footprints, Blackberry traveler, etc). By 11:02 AM access appeared to be restored.

At 11:25 AM Wednesday, July 25, 2012 another network event occurred causing a data center router to fail.  Network connectivity to connected devices was erratic causing multiple campus services to become unavailable.  By 11:30 the data center router and connected devices began to respond to monitoring tools steadily.  Telecommunications has confirmed that phone systems were affected during this outage (ex. IP phones rebooted).  Network Engineers are working to ensure service is restored.
