Software update to resolve wireless connection issues for some Windows 8 users available.

Intel has released software updates to resolve sporadic wireless connection issues for some Windows 8 users with the following Intel wireless adapters:

Join the WebCampus Support team at our open lab sessions to help you with the transition to the new WebCampus for Fall 2013. 

In addition to our normal Friday open lab (10am - noon), we are offering special open labs where we will show you what's new in WebCampus. You will also have the opportunity to work on your courses and receive one-on-one assistance. 

Several outdated campus applications to be decommissioned August 15

On Thursday, August 15, OIT will be decommissioning several unused and outdated applications. The owners of these applications have been notified to confirm that the applications are no longer needed and can safely be decommissioned.

Update to UNLV-Secure Wireless Network on July 25

UNLV Wireless Customers,

An update will be applied to the UNLV-Secure wireless network on July 25 at 5:30 p.m. which may result in a pop-up message on some devices. The message will prompt you to accept a new security certificate. Please follow the prompts and install the certificate. This process will only need to be completed once for this update.

Many Campus Applications and Servers Unavailable Morning of Saturday, June 8

In order to better serve campus through increased capacity, OIT has scheduled work on a campus data center.

This work will result in an outage that will affect many campus applications and servers the morning of Saturday, June 8 from midnight to 6am.

Please note that Lotus Notes e-mail will be one of the affected applications. Though you will be unable to send or receive e-mail during the outage, no e-mail will be lost as messages will be queued for delivery once service returns.

The Office of Information Technology (OIT) is excited to announce new security and support capabilities for campus computers.

Restoration of Proofpoint settings set for April 4 at 10pm

At 10 p.m. tonight, April 4, OIT staff will be restoring a backup of the personalized Proofpoint settings that were cleared on March 28.

The restoration of settings will overwrite any changes made since March 28, but will address blocked and safe sender items that were lost. In the event that the restore is unsuccessful, we will revert back to the personalized settings currently in place.

Some Delayed Lotus Notes Mail Delivery on April 1

On Monday, April 1st, the Lotus Notes Domino e-mail system encountered a problem resulting in some delayed e-mail delivery throughout the day. Anyone using obg.sysapps.unlv.edu SMTP outbound server (IMAP or POP) to send mail to unlv.edu addresses experienced the delay.

E-mail was queued and delivered and no e-mail was lost. The DomDoc1 server was rebooted and mail started to get delivered normally around 6 pm on Monday.

DreamSpark Maintenance Outage 4/4, 4 - 5:30 a.m.

Academic Alliance accounts used to access DreamSpark Premium software will be unavailable Thursday, April 4 from 4 a.m. to 5:30 a.m. (PST) for scheduled maintenance. During the outage, users will not be able to login to their accounts on the DreamSpark Premium website.
