At 10:59 AM, Monday, July 13, multiple Embarq customers contacted the Help Desk because they are unable to access various UNLV resources. We are unable to confirm this issue. An update will be sent out if we receive more information.

An unexpected outage of WebCampus occurred on Tuesday, July 9, 2009 at 7 PM PST due to a problem with a disc array on a server. At about 8:30 PM, services were restored after UNLV technicians restarted the servers. UNLV technicians are working with our hardware vendors to determine the root cause of the issue.

June 23, 2009 - 2:30pm

On Tuesday June 23, the campus experienced a variety of service interruptions including some network and phone access. Intermittent outages occurred from about noon until 2:00pm. At 2:00 PM the cause of the interruption was identified and the network services were restored.

A device connected to the UNLV network was creating a loop, flooding the network with traffic. The device has been removed from the UNLV network and the owners are being contacted. OIT continues to work on some residual issues but all services have returned to normal operation.

A DNS server was experiencing problems around 3:00 pm, which may have resulted in the slow rendering of some web pages (slow name resolution) or other network based resources.  The problem is resolved and all DNS servers are functioning normally.

At 9:58 AM Tuesday, June 02, 2009 received notification from Systems and Applications Domino 1 is back online.

At 9:36 AM Tuesday, June 02, 2009 Domino 1 failed. Systems and Applications are rebooting the server now. Root cause is unknown at this time. Domino 1 customers should have failed over to another server. IMAP customers will be unable to access email.

At 8:46 AM Systems and Applications reported Domino2 is back online.

At 8:10 AM Tuesday, June 02, 2009 Systems and Applications detected Domino 2 database was hung due to a corrupt database. Lotus Notes users accessing Domino 2 will be able to log in but not receive any new mail. System administrators are rebooting the server now.
