Messages submitted to RAVE are reviewed by your department and by a campus moderator. The deadlines below account for the time it takes for messages to go through this review process.

Wednesdays, 5 p.m. is the standard deadline for most e-mail notices.

For students to receive your news by Saturday, after 12:01 a.m.:
Submit your news by Wednesdays at 5:00 p.m. You will know it is going to be included in the weekly e-newsletter if you get an e-mail stating that your announcement is approved (Note: reviewers will approve news by Thursdays at 5:00 p.m.; campus moderators approve all news by Fridays at 3:00 p.m.).

For students to receive your news within an hour during regular business hours (8 a.m. to 5 p.m.):

  1. Get approval from a Vice President or President in your area.
  2. Submit your news between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. by logging in to RAVE and select "Today" instead of "Saturday" Be sure to include a "Note to Reviewer" which explains why your news is so urgent and which campus official has authorized it to be sent.
  3. As soon as you get an approval notice from your department's reviewer and the campus moderator, your news will go to students at the top of the next hour.

For students to receive your news within 15 minutes:
Contact a Trusted Submitter.

How do you know if your message will be sent?
You should receive an "approved" or "rejected" e-mail notice to the address you used to log in to RAVE.
