Students > File Storage

You may need an easy way to transfer files between home, work and UNLV. With your free UNLV network storage space, you can access the same files, on or off campus.

After activating your computing account, you'll receive 100 MB of storage space, commonly referred to as a Home Directory, on the network server.

Access files on-campus

  1. Go to a campus computer lab and log in with your computing account. If you're using library commons computers, use the "off-campus" instructions (below) to access your files.
  2. Double click the Home Directory icon located on the desktop.
    • If the Home Directory icon is not available, open My Computer and click the H:\ drive

Access files off-campus*

  1. Click here to visit NetStorage
  2. If prompted for a security certificate warning, click Yes
  3. Enter your username and password for your Computing Account.
  4. Click Ok

* You may use a FTP client instead of NetStorage to access home directory files.  The help desk recommends using WS_FTP.  The program and access instructions are available on the WS_FTP software page.

Group file storage

If you want to share files with a group of classmates, contact the student help desk to set up a shared folder that will be accessible via the P:\ drive.

Contact the help desk if you need assistance.
