WebCampus - Blackboard Learn Webinar Information

Webinar Attendance Options

Please join us for live, instructor-led webinars to learn about the new Blackboard Learn environment.  You'll have two ways to attend live*:

Visit Viewing Room

The Office of Information Technology will be hosting “viewing rooms” for the webinar.  This is a great blended choice to minimize technical problems, have a facilitator in the room for questions, and engage face-to-face with other faculty attending the same training.

Join Remotely

You may also choose to join the webinar from the comfort of your own location.  Please run the compatibility check*as soon as you are able to, but at the very minimum, at least one hour before the webinar.

* The webinars will be recorded for later viewing in case you cannot make a live event or wish to view them again.

Webinar Compatibility Check

The Blackboard Collaborate compatibility web page* contains the following information to ensure that you will be able to connect to the Collaborate webinar with minimal issues:

  1. Dynamic detection of your Operating System (Windows / Mac OS)
  2. Dynamic detection of your version of Java (which is required to run the Collaborate application)
  3. A sample Collaborate meeting room for you to test your connection and audio settings
  4. Other training and help resources

*If the compatibility check hyperlink above does not work for you, please copy and paste the following URL into your browser address bar:

A tip sheet on how to connect to the webinars may be downloaded here (PDF format).

Course Migration Information

Using the new version of WebCampus will require course content to be moved to or recreated in the new system. For those of you teaching online courses supported by Online Education, the Instructional Designer assigned to your course will do most of the work of transferring content.

Those of you teaching courses not supported by Online Education will need to move or recreate your content.  Please click this page for instructions on how to do this.
