Classroom Technology Updates and Help Information for Fall 2017

Over the summer, the Office of Information Technology (OIT) refreshed 30 classrooms with upgraded technology, including touch panels, Windows 10 PCs, projectors, and Blu-Ray players. In addition, all classroom PCs have been upgraded to Windows 10 and Office 2016.

We encourage faculty using technology enhanced classrooms to visit your classroom prior to the semester in order to become familiar with the technology. You can also view your classroom, including technologies  and available software, online at https://oit.unlv.edu/labs-classrooms/tecs.

Classroom Technology Services is available at 702-895-0771 or visit CBC B-133 for:

  • Help and support for classroom technology

  • Training and workshops for iClicker classroom response systems

  • Requests to install licensed software on classroom computers (please allow 10 days for processing)

  • Keys to access microphones

If you are using VHS tapes in your course, please note that OIT stopped replacing and supporting VHS equipment in general use classrooms in September 2016. VHS players will not be removed from classrooms, however, equipment will not be repaired or replaced when it fails. Please contact Library Media Resources at mcs [dot] liedlibrary [at] unlv [dot] edu or call 702-895-2122 for assistance in replacing or upgrading your VHS materials.

We wish you all a successful semester.
