New Google Calendar will become the default user interface for UNLVMail on January 8

Google is updating the look and feel of the Google Calendar. On Monday, January 8, the new Calendar will become the default interface for UNLVMail and Rebelmail. If you prefer, you can switch back to the classic Google Calendar until Monday, February 19, when the new calendar will become permanent.

The new Google Calendar features include:

  • New user interface: The user interface has been updated with modern color palette and a cleaner design.

  • Rich formatting and links: You can add rich text formatting, like numbered list and underlined texts, as well as hyperlinks to web pages and Google Docs.

  • Manage multiple calendars side by side: See and manage multiple calendars, including calendars you help manage, using the new Day view.

  • More powerful search: Now when you perform a search, it will look for matching documents, contacts, and events.

You can access the new Google Calendar today by signing into Google Calendar and clicking on the Use new Calendar button.

To go back to the old Calendar, click Settings and Back to classic Calendar.

OIT will send out a final reminder again before the new user interface becomes permanent on February 19. For more information about the new Google Calendar, please visit this Google Calendar Learning Center.
