The Office of Information Technology will conduct maintenance on campus wireless hardware from 2 - 6 a.m. on Saturday, September 30. 
 
During this time, all UNLV wireless services will be unavailable. This includes UNLV-Secure and UNLV-Guest networks.
 
Please note that the 24/7 computer lab in TBE A311 is available for students who need to access the Internet during this time.

News for Students

Home directories, also known as the "Y:" Drive, will be unavailable from 12:01 a.m. through 4 a.m. on Tuesday, September 19 as OIT moves these directories to a new server.

To avoid losing any unsaved changes, save all files and disconnect from Rebelfiles before midnight on Friday, September 18 and avoid saving making any changes during the maintenance window.

The Faculty Web Server, faculty.unlv.edu, will be unavailable from 8 - 10 p.m. on Wednesday, September 6 in order for OIT to upgrade the WordPress version that supports the Faculty Web Server “ready made” sites. 
 
Site owners will be unable to login or make changes for both “ready made” and DIY sites during this scheduled maintenance window.
  • Visitors may be unable the access websites for brief periods.

WebCampus will be unavailable from 12:01 a.m. until approximately 8 a.m. on Sunday, September 3 to correct a critical performance issue. This is outside of the normal maintenance schedule.

Please save changes and exit WebCampus before midnight on Saturday night to avoid losing any work.

You can check the status of WebCampus and other campus technologies at status.unlv.edu.

As the Fall 2017 semester begins, remember to be mindful about phishing attempts and other scams that may steal your private information. These attempts can appear to come from anywhere, even people you know, and often contain official-looking signatures.

We recommend taking the following steps to help protect yourself from phishing scams:

Over the summer, the Office of Information Technology (OIT) refreshed 30 classrooms with upgraded technology, including touch panels, Windows 10 PCs, projectors, and Blu-Ray players. In addition, all classroom PCs have been upgraded to Windows 10 and Office 2016.

Are you interested in increasing attendance, integrating active learning, and improving student performance? Have you considered implementing iClicker personal response systems in your course, but are not sure where to start?

If so, join us for an iClicker Workshop from 9 a.m. - 10 a.m. or 12:30 - 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 24. Come see how easy it is to get started using iClicker with remotes or the iClicker mobile app.

WebCampus will be unavailable from 12:01 a.m. to 8 a.m. on Sunday, August 20 in order to apply a necessary upgrade. During this time, you will not be able to access WebCampus. We encourage you to plan ahead in order to avoid losing any work. 
 
This upgrade contains several technical upgrades and bug fixes but does not include any major design, feature, or interface changes for users.
