OIT enabled 2-Step Verification for UNLVMail in April and it is now available for Rebelmail users as well.

2-Step verification provides stronger account security by requiring you to enter a verification code (similar to a PIN) that is sent to your phone when you sign into Gmail on new devices and once every 30 days on computers you have verified before.

We are excited to announce that Team Drives, a new feature in Google Drive that makes working in teams easier, is now available for UNLVMail and Rebelmail.

Team Drives are shared drive spaces where teams can store files and documents, similar to Google’s current collaborative file sharing, but with a few new features designed with teams in mind:

Google will soon update the look and feel of the login page to streamline experiences across devices. 
 
The changes will begin rolling out to customers on April 5 but may take more than two weeks to appear in UNLVMail and Rebelmail.

As we approach tax filing season, be on the alert for tax- and payroll-related phishing attempts and other scams. These attempts can appear to come from anywhere, even people you know.

UNLV and NSHE will never ask you for your password or other personal information through an email.

While OIT works to prevent phishing messages from reaching your inbox, you should also know the signs in order to prevent yourself from becoming a victim of phishing. Remember to think before you click:

As we start the fall semester, remember to be mindful about phishing attempts and other attempts to steal your private information. These attempts can appear to come from anywhere, even people you know.

To protect yourself, never enter any personal information, usernames, or passwords in response to an email, or on a website that is linked to from an email. Never open files in an email that you were not expecting.
