As you know, we’ve had several outages the past few days. To fix one of the issues, we will conduct emergency maintenance from midnight on Wednesday, September 16th, through 4 a.m. on Thursday, September 17th. During this four-hour maintenance window, WebCampus will not be available. Technicians will apply a patch provided by Oracle to fix a memory leak problem causing our database servers to fail.

September 15, 2009 - 5:12pm

Lotus Notes e-mail service will be unavailable Tuesday, Sept. 15th, between 11 p.m. and midnight. During that time, technical staff will apply a fix that IBM provided to address a software bug that causes large file attachments to slow mail delivery. While the issue has mainly effected Domino 6 and Domino 4 recently, it is important that the patch be applied to all mail servers, both primary and fail over servers.

We appreciate your patience during this maintenance.

We have experienced several WebCampus outages beginning Sunday, September 13th, as listed below. OIT is working with IBM and Oracle to troubleshoot the issues. We understand that students and faculty rely upon WebCampus 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. In August we rebuilt the WebCampus infrastructure to increase its redundancy and capacity. This new configuration worked very well the first several weeks of school. Our technicians are working to remedy the issues listed below as quickly as possible.

OIT staff will conduct maintenance on UNLV Wireless between 12 a.m. and 1:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 2. Service will be intermittent during this time. This maintenance addresses problems with customers not being redirected to the UNLV Wireless log in screen, which prevented customers from using wireless. Please contact the IT Help Desk if you have any questions regarding this change.

August 31, 2009 - 2:06pm

Since Monday, 8/24, many UNLV students and staff have reported that they cannot connect to UNLV Wireless. They can see "UNLV Wireless" and select it as a network, but when they open a browser window, they are not being redirected to the log in screen.

If you're experiencing this problem, we recommend that you keep trying to log in. Many customers have been successful.
